At the age of five, Arika Kaosa was given an acoustic guitar as a birthday present. They taught themself to first play by ear with the radio and later moved on to reading music so they could join their middle school's jazz band. Their love for the guitar grew into a love for singing and songwriting and has gone on to perform in numerous alternative rock, hardcore, and punk bands as both a guitar player and vocalist. As a vocalist, they have been recognized by New Jersey radio station WFMU as having one of the best voices of all AFAB hard rock vocalists. they have toured nationally and internationally in projects of their own, as a session musician, and as a guitar technician for some of rock musics best up and coming bands. In 2009 and 2010, they created runway music for New York Fashion Week and the Mount Mary Fashion Show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During their time at Columbia College Chicago, they performed regularly at guitar legend Buddy Guy's bar and restaurant "Buddy Guy's Legends" and at country icon Loretta Lynn's Ranch. Below are links to some of their current and past projects.
