Arika Kaosa's passion for journalism started at a young age when they would rush to the television screen to watch their favorite news anchor, Peter Jennings, on ABC's "World News Tonight". Their first writing gig was with Punk Globe Magazine in 2007. Punk Globe was started in 1977 by punk rock icon and singer of the White Trash Debutantes, Ginger Coyote. In 2009, they took a position with Examiner.com (Now AXS) writing about concerts and upcoming events in the Chicago and Milwaukee areas. In August 2011, Arika started content writing for Yahoo News and in December 2011 at the age of 25, they became the Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago Academy of Music magazine. Arika has covered major entertainment events such as Warped Tour, Ozzfest, Lollapalooza, Summerfest, Riot Fest, and New York Fashion Week as well as major severe weather and national news events. They have interviewed numerous country artists like Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Sheryl Crow as well as an endless amount of rock musicians including AFI, Black Sabbath, Dropkick Murphys, Slipknot, Rancid, Deftones, Andrew WK, and Zakk Wylde.
